Ingemar Thalin's first exhibition was, as a teenager, at the Contemporary Art Exhibition Hall in Landskrona, Sweden. Besides his main engagement in art, he is educated as a theologist at Lund University and as a pedagogue he taught communication at the university. He has worked in Great Britain and in India/Bangladesh as a photographer and journalist.
Ingemar Thalin says: "The transcendence in a wide sense, is in the immanence. This can be fixated using the language of art. In the interaction with the context, art will became narrative."
